Jess stood flabbergasted mouth wide open. Ganu made an un-approving sound at her rudeness.
“H… How erm nice to see you again… Harry…” Jess said to the boy who had materialized before her only moments before, ignoring his outstretched hand.
“The pleasure is all mine,” he said smiling with a small bow, “It feels like an age since we last met. I see you are still no closer to finding the Princess since we last met. And you are still dressed so strangely!” He chuckled as he looked at her average attire of a pokemon shirt and jeans. He seemed to think that because she wasn’t wearing a bright pink robe like him she was out of date.
“What do you mean no closer to finding the Princess than before?” She snapped angrily back, “Why I’m in the castle this time!”
Harry smile grew wider.
“Aren’t I?” She asked hopelessly.
“Why of course you are! The Princess’ castle is a labyrinth of rooms, secret passageways and…” He paused for a moment, unsure about what to say next, “other things. But however it would seem that instead of traveling in the direction of the Great Hall, you have strolled deeper and deeper into the castle. But fortunately for you, we meet again! Who knows how long you would have wandered around in these halls?”
“Yes…” Jess said loud enough for Ganu to hear, “How fortunate…”
“Come now,” Harry gestured to the solid stone wall beside him, “Let us fly to the Princess!” He placed his hand on the stone wall muttered under his breath. Jess gasped.
Beneath his hand on the seemingly innocent stone, nothing happened.
Harry stared blankly at Jess, “What? Did you expect it to magically open up? HA!” He seemed to laugh to himself, “Yet again, you think that a bit of hocus pocus can save you. How about you just do me a favor. Forget EVERYTHING about that idiot Harry Pothead and his ‘magical’ world. In the real life that’s not how things are done. You can’t just wave a magic wand and POOF!! Something happens. Magic is not like that. You can’t control when it happens. It just… does.”
“So… can you perform magic”
“Perform?” he looked as if Jess had hit him across the face with a fish, something she wishes she could have done, “Magic is not something to amuse you mortals! Magic is an ART!”
“Ahhh… sorry I didn’t mean to offend you.”
“None taken fair maiden!” He carried on as if nothing had happened, “I shall ignore your ignorance this time. You did not know.”
Whether or not Jess liked being called ignorant she did not know, for at that very moment she was being swept up in Harry’s strangely strong arms and placed on the front of the rake he seemed to pull out of the wall.
“Hold on!” He said to her with a hint of adventure in his eyes, “This ride could get bumpy!”
How or why the ride could get bumpy Jess did not know. As the rake zoomed down the hallway she couldn’t help but think perhaps this time, she had gotten herself into a situation she could not get out of.
